Well, it seems I'm finally getting my sea legs back when it comes to my watercolors (Get it! "SEA legs" "WATERcolor"...hahahahaha...ha...he...hehe...a-hem *cough*). Another portrait (well he's more interesting to practice painting on then fruit). Also a few different mediums: watercolor, brushpen, metallic gold ink (just for the eyes this time) and white out, for a few highlights that the watercolor bled into.
11.5" x 10.25" on Arches watercolor paper (wit 2 coats of Crystal Clear to brighten the watercolors and give me some fumes to get high off of )
I actually prefer this version of Seshomaru over anime version.
also, your touch and coloring reminds me of actual traditional Asian paintings.
Superb work, well done.

Wow, beautiful technique. You're so skilled with watercolors!! (And yeah, I laughed at that joke lol) The texture is beautiful on this, it really gives it character. Lovely.
Watercolor is nice because the paper adds a lot of texture. It's one of my favorite mediums, very quick and impressionistic. It's also nice to have an orginal piece to sell. This is going into a gallery show in July along with some prints of my other work and a few more paintings that I'm working on now.
I love this. It seems so much more like his real self than the anime or manga could ever acheive, although I'm pretty sure I just insulted Takahashi-sama.
