The Echo chamber dilemmaThe promise of the Internet was that unlimited information and experiences would draw us together. But instead it seems to have driven us apart.
For years I've observed this behavior but haven't been able to vocalize it correctly. Originally I called the behavior of collective opinions as "the hive mentality" of the Internet. But that wasn't exactly right and I often got called out on it. The most prominent example was when I made a comic about a guy disagreeing with opinions and being shouted at till he remained quiet, eventually fading into the background with everyone else. The consensus of that comic was that if you disagree with someone you aren't bullied into not speaking, but instead are free to go someplace else where people who do agree with you exist. And you know what? That wasn't what i was trying to convey, but is sadly true. The Internet is not a hive mind. It's many tiny pocket echo chambers of mutual agreements.

Commission Sale to Benifit my Cat

UPDATE:

The Bear is doing well on his medicine, and hopefully this is the end of his stomach problems. I have met my goal for equalizing the amount of money that I needed to break even this month. THANK YOU to everyone who ordered a commission! I will be leaving this commission sale up for the rest of the month. Additional commissions will go towards Bear's dental surgery (he needs a tooth removed), but that is down the road, and I will probably be able to save up the money for it on my own. I just wanted to give folks a chance for some cheap commissions, if they still wanted them. THANK YOU, THANK YOU! I really appreciate all of the support and well wishes.

Recently, my older cat had to make a few trips to the vet because he was having trouble keeping his food down. His vet bills (for tests and medicine) put me in a rough spot for paying bills this month, so I thought I would do a commission sale to help me cover some of those costs since I have a while to wait until several of my freelance checks come in.

I'll be doing digital bust portraits for $20.00 full color and $10.00 in black and white.
